Hierarchical Transport Models in the Netherlands
The topic of hierarchical transport models does not receive much attention. Literature on these type of transport models is sparse. Hierarchical transport models comprise models for different regions with an overlap that are linked teach other by input and modelling technique in order to provide policy and decision makers with consistent information and forecasts. The Netherlands has a few decades of experience with hierarchical transport models. They are used at different spatial levels. Their main goal is to keep consistency in results between the different spatial levels.
